Through its Cerrito Agricultural School and Cerrito Training Hotel, Fundación Paraguaya is launching an innovative tourism experience for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations looking for something different: the Cheese Route, a sensory and educational journey set in the heart of nature, just 41 km from Asunción.
This initiative is part of the Foundation’s commitment to promoting sustainable rural tourism by creating spaces where visitors can connect with nature, learn about agricultural production, and enjoy locally made gourmet products.
What is the Cheese Route?
Participants will have the opportunity to witness firsthand how the renowned Iberian cheese—in all its varieties—is made, along with a new addition: blue cheese. Both are produced at the Cheese Factory of the Cerrito Agricultural School, a production unit that combines education, quality, and flavor.
The tour ends with a guided cheese tasting, with the option of wine pairing, offering a gourmet experience in a countryside setting.
“We are strengthening rural tourism so people can truly connect with nature while enjoying the added value of our local products. That’s what the Cheese Route is all about: nature, flavors, and learning—all in one place,” stated a representative of Fundación Paraguaya.
