We Received the 2025 Sustainable Development Best Practices Award

A recognition of our commitment to reducing poverty and promoting sustainable communities

We are proud to share that our Poverty Stoplight, a tool created by the Fundación Paraguaya, has been recognized with the 2025 Sustainable Development Best Practices Award, granted by Pacto Global Paraguay, an initiative of the United Nations that highlights and celebrates organizations making a positive impact on people, the planet, and prosperity, while actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We received this award in the People Category, which honors initiatives that promote social inclusion, health, education, and improved quality of life in communities. This recognition reaffirms the effectiveness and reach of our model, which places families at the center of change, empowering them to identify their living conditions, set personal goals, and develop concrete strategies to improve their well-being.

Our Model: The Poverty Stoplight

At Fundación Paraguaya, we believe that sustainable change begins at the local level. That’s why we developed the Poverty Stoplight, a tool that combines technology and community engagement to measure 50 indicators of quality of life — covering areas such as health, education, housing, income, and leadership.

With this information, each family builds its own life improvement plan, turning “reds” (deprivations) into “greens” (achievements), with the support of mentors, organizations, and local governments. This process encourages self-awareness, action, and transformation, strengthening both individuals and their communities.

A Recognition That Inspires Us to Keep Moving Forward

This award reflects the collective effort of thousands of families, partners, and organizations who share our vision of a fairer, more inclusive, and more prosperous Paraguay. We are deeply grateful to the United Nations System in Paraguay for supporting an initiative that proves sustainable change begins from the ground up — in every home and every community.

Today, our Poverty Stoplight model is being implemented in over 60 countries, inspiring communities around the world to build their own path toward prosperity and dignity.

This recognition motivates us to continue innovating, collaborating, and working toward a future where every family can light up its own stoplight toward a sustainable, full, and poverty-free life.
