Between March and December 2025, Fundación Paraguaya implemented two educational programs that demonstrated the power of sport as a tool for social transformation: Soccer Without Poverty and Soccer and Entrepreneurship. These initiatives reached 207 children, adolescents, and young people in Paraguay and Argentina, combining physical activity, financial education, and life skills development.
The Soccer Without Poverty program aimed to strengthen the overall well-being of adolescents and young people through football, incorporating financial education, leadership, teamwork, and the use of the Poverty Stoplight as a tool for diagnosing and monitoring quality of life. The initiative benefited 103 young people and was implemented in four clubs in Paraguay—located in Lambaré and Villeta—as well as in three women’s football teams in Corrientes, Argentina, consolidating a high-impact binational experience.
Among its main outcomes, the program identified high levels of vulnerability in areas such as income, budgeting, and savings, which made it possible to design targeted training in financial education and economic planning. The findings highlight improvements in personal organization, increased financial awareness, and the strengthening of sport as a space for community integration and social development, leaving lasting capacities within the participating clubs.
Meanwhile, Soccer and Entrepreneurship focused on 104 students aged 13 to 17 and was implemented in five public educational institutions in Villeta, Itauguá, Fernando de la Mora, San Lorenzo, and Villa Elisa. The program sought to promote healthy lifestyles and foster entrepreneurial skills through football, integrating modules on saving, budgeting, planning, and an introduction to business ideas within the school environment.
Results showed high levels of student participation, an initial understanding of key financial concepts, and strengthened social skills such as teamwork, cooperation, and responsible decision-making. The conclusions indicate that combining sport and education facilitates learning, increases motivation, and stands out as an effective strategy for the holistic development of children and adolescents in vulnerable contexts.
In 2025, both programs reaffirmed Fundación Paraguaya’s commitment to innovative educational models, where soccer goes beyond sport to become a concrete tool for inclusion, learning, and the creation of opportunities for future generations.
