In this edition, 10 Fundación Paraguaya clients reached the final stage, demonstrating a strong commitment to adopting responsible practices in their daily lives and improving their community environment. The winner of the contest was Anastasia Rodas, representing the city of Pilar, who stood out for her learning, application, and promotion of good environmental practices.
Through her participation in the Environmental Stoplight Contest, Anastasia strengthened her knowledge of the responsible use of water and electricity, recycling, and proper waste management. She also shared these learnings with her community, multiplying the positive impact of the initiative.
The Environmental Stoplight Contest reaffirms Fundación Paraguaya’s commitment to sustainable development, recognizing that environmental care is a key component in improving families’ quality of life and advancing toward the elimination of poverty in all its dimensions.
How Does the Poverty Stoplight Work?
The Poverty Stoplight is an innovative methodology developed by Fundación Paraguaya that allows families to self-diagnose their situation across multiple dimensions of poverty, including income, education, health, housing, environment, and community participation.
Using clear and visual indicators, each aspect of family life is classified as red, yellow, or green, depending on the level of deprivation or well-being. This approach helps households better understand their reality and empowers individuals to set their own improvement goals, progress gradually and sustainably, and become active drivers of their own development.
The Environmental Stoplight Contest is part of this comprehensive methodology, highlighting that environmental protection and responsible habits are essential to building more resilient, sustainable, and poverty-free communities.
