Fundación Paraguaya has been awarded the Green Seal, a recognition granted by EMiner Paraguay, the country’s electronic waste recycling company. This award highlights organizations that implement sustainable practices in managing their electronic waste.

This achievement is the result of the commitment of Fundación Paraguaya’s Technology team, which has systematically integrated electronic recycling processes, proving that sustainability can also be driven from technical and administrative areas.

“We are proud to receive this recognition, which reflects our belief that environmental care should be present in every area of an organization—even in those where environmental impact isn’t usually top of mind,” stated representatives of the foundation.

The global impact of electronic waste

According to the Global E-waste Monitor 2024, more than 62 million tons of e-waste have already been generated worldwide, but only 22% has been formally recycled. If urgent action is not taken, that number could rise to over 82 million tons by 2030. Electronic devices contain heavy metals and toxic substances which, without proper handling, contaminate the soil, water, and air—posing serious risks to both human health and the environment.

That’s why initiatives like EMiner’s Green Seal are so important: they promote a culture of organizational responsibility and support the circular economy by reducing the need to extract new resources, directly contributing to lower carbon emissions.

We’re all part of the solution

Fundación Paraguaya reaffirms its commitment to continuing good environmental practices and invites other organizations to think about what happens to their electronic waste: “Every computer, phone, or printer we dispose of safely and responsibly is one more step toward a cleaner planet.”

Because sustainable development isn’t just a distant concept—it’s a daily practice that can begin right at our desks.
