Fundación Paraguaya is advancing the Verdeate Initiative, a program that—after its launch last year—delivered strong results and is now scaling up to support more families in overcoming multidimensional poverty.
The initiative is built on the Poverty Stoplight methodology, a tool that assesses nearly 50 indicators across different aspects of quality of life. Based on this diagnosis, each family works to turn their red and yellow indicators green, moving toward more dignified and sustainable living conditions.
In 2024, the Foundation applied 92,000 Poverty Stoplights to families participating in women entrepreneurs’ committees, showing meaningful progress across multiple indicators. This year, the program is being strengthened with the goal of reaching 100,000 families over the next five years.
The work is supported by a team of 150 field advisors who mentor more than 4,000 women’s committees nationwide. Starting in 2025, the tool is also being implemented with microentrepreneurs who access individual loans, further expanding the initiative’s reach.
The model integrates technology, mentorship, competitions, and practical interventions that help families identify concrete, sustainable solutions to improve their lives.
Fundación Paraguaya aims to position itself as a global leader in the fight against poverty, with the goal of turning 300,000 indicators green each year and ensuring that the 125,000 families it serves achieve dignified living conditions by 2029. With this new phase, the Verdeate Initiative reaffirms its commitment to innovative, tailored solutions—demonstrating that overcoming poverty is possible when commitment, support, and action come together.
